The post-16 academy faced CACT Ashford today, in what proved to be an eventful game.

The Ashford started well, dominated possession and took the lead via a cross which found its way in at the back post. The game continued in the same way, with the hosts chasing shadows for the opening 30 minutes.

The Bay finally managed to gain some possession and produced three excellent moves towards the end of the first half, taking a 3-1 lead into half time. Goals from Mason (2) and Lartice finished off some great football.

The game threatened to boil over with 9 bookings, but The Bay continued as they finished the first half, they moved the ball quickly and were clinical in front of goal.

A goal from Groom, a penalty converted by Bunn and a superb volley from Bowman, sealed a 6-1 victory.

Ollie Bunn put in an outstanding performance, without question man of the match.
