Season 2020/21 details

The planned reorganisation of Women’s football has been confirmed with the new structure for steps 5 and below put in place for the 2020/21 season.

Herne Bay FC Women have been transferred from the SECWFL Premier Division to Division One of the L&SERWFL (London & South East Regional Women’s Football League. They were last members of this league in 2015/16 competing in its Premier Division.

The whole of the SECWFL Premier Division has been transferred apart from Eastbourne United who requested voluntary relegation and will remain in a lower division in the SECWFL. The Premier Division of the GLWFL (Greater London Women’s Football League) will also now be part of the L&SERWFL. From that division Tottenham Hotspur 3rds have folded.

It is expected that there will be two Division Ones feeding into the L&SERWFL Premier Division but a variety of options are being formulated as to how they will be formed. It is not a foregone conclusion that the two previous premier divisions of the SECWFL and GLWFL will simply be the two divisions at the step 6 level although it could be one of the options proposed.

The 2020/21 league season is scheduled to start on Sunday 6th September although there might be an FA Women’s Cup match the previous week, all of which depends on advice from the Government regarding the current public health emergency.

The L&SERWFL have also put in a financial package to help clubs at this difficult time including waiving the league registration fee for the 2020/21 season.

We will keep you updated on developments as we prepare for the new season although, obviously, all activity including training is currently on hold.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to The Kent Vehicles Stadium, Winch's Field as we continue to progress Women's Football to a higher level, whenever that may be.
