Herne Bays U14’s faced Faversham Town in the latest KYL fixture. Currently sitting top of the table Bay wanted to add the points tally and fully expected to win this match. Bay started well with maintain possession of the football and making Faversham chase the ball. Devon Mason was once again causing all kinds of problems for Faversham left back. Bay took the lead when Woody Ebrill fired past the Faversham keeper for a 0-1 lead at half time.
The second half saw Bay press home there possession advantage and soon made it 0-2 when Devon Mason latched on to a through ball and slotted pass the keeper. Bay seemed to create chance and chance. Anthony Simes grab the third from a corner before Matas Kabelis finished off a great move that saw James Williams fire a low cross from the left. Joseph Bagnaro grabbed his first of the season with a fine drive with his left foot before Stanley Youll curled a free kick from the edge of the area only for the keeper to make a mistake and allow the ball to spin into the net for 0-6. Bay created numerous chances and should’ve added to the lead before some slack defending allowed the Faversham forward to finished past Jacob Webb in goal for Bay 1-6.
Bay now host two home games against Margate and Hythe Town before the travel to last seasons league winners Dover.
