Ron Boddy

It was a real sadness hearing the news that Ron had passed away this week.

Ron was a really honest person and his commitment to the football club was immense for the betterment of the club.

His response to criticism appeared sometimes to be abrupt, which did not please everybody and his effort were not always appreciated by the supporters. But everything he did was in the best interests and survival of the club.

He did everything in his power to keep the club solvent, particularly at times when sponsorship was hard to get.

Ron never got the praise he deserved, but he never wavered in his commitment.

It was a great shame in his last few years he was not able to celebrate the Club’s success in achieving promotion, and I am sure he would have loved to be considered as instrumental in keeping the Club operational in order to go on and achieve the success of last season.

Thank you for all you did for the Club. Rest in Peace, Ron
