“We are pleased to announce that property developer Terrace Hill has agreed to support Herne Bay Football Club until the end of this season, and possibly beyond. The club has been striving to attract new financial support since losing our main club sponsors at the end of 2011. The club has made many approaches, both nationally and locally, to try and secure new main club sponsorship, but in this tough economic climate it is very hard to find companies, or individuals, who are in a position to offer assistance. Needless to say the club is extremely grateful to Terrace Hill for responding so positively.

“This initial support is very important in that it will help the club through the months that lie ahead playing at Winch’s Field, our home for nearly 60 years, and through our Community commitments run things in a way that benefits the Club and the Town. Subject to financial constraints our community plans for the future include starting a disabled team in 2013, to add to the Ladies Team which started this season, and is enjoying great success. Our Soccer Schools for children will be extended through our Community Football Academy, and in due course it is hoped that the club will be in a position to introduce a full blown Football Academy in order to assist the development of young players.

“We are aware that some sporting facilities are being put forward as part of a scheme to redevelop the Golf Club. However, the facilities and set up would not be suitable for a senior football club such as ours. We would like to make it clear that as far as we are concerned the future of Herne Bay FC lies at Winch’s Field, and hopefully that future will be in partnership with Terrace Hill.
