Herne Bay Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Callander as its new Chairman.

Sam broke into the first team at HBFC aged 15 under Jason Lillis and scored on his debut in a friendly against Folkestone, he eventually moved off to Chelsea scoring 48 goals for the academy before picking up a 6-month-long injury.

After a period of rehabilitation, he moved to Ebbsfleet United where he played with Westy. Sam was breaking into the first team the year Ebbsfleet won the FA Cup Trophy.

After a season at Dagenham Redbridge and short spells at Gillingham and surrounding clubs, he found himself back at Ebbsfleet.
His passion to continue full-time football dissipated so he attended university and went on to run his own successful business.

Sam is the current manager of the HBFC under 13s Kent Youth League Team, even with his new role as Chairman he has no intention of that changing and is looking forward to being under 14s manager next season.

Sam will be sharing his first club statement imminently.

Welcome to HBFC Sam
